- We are planning some big changes to our building. Our church vision statement challenges us to "strive to open our doors and hearts tot he community, ready to respond." We are looking at options on how to make our space physically accessible at the same time as we strive to be spiritually accessible, interculterally accessible, and intellectually accessible. To learn more go to the R2R pages. R2R stands for "Ready to Respond."

June 12, 2008 (Not that recent but this issue is of great importance for all Canadians)
- Yesterday the Government of Canada issued a formal apology to aboriginal survivors of the residential school system. To read the text of the Prime Minister's speech you can click here to go to the CBC website where they have posted it. I am certain it is available in many other places as well. This apology has been a long time coming. The United Church of Canada has apologised twice to Native Peoples in Canada. First a general apology just over twenty years ago and then a specific apology for the role the church played in the residential school system about 10 years ago. To get more specific information about the United Church's involvement and response you can look through the resources on our national web site here.
